An interview with Jennifer Brodeur of JB Skin Sävvi

This week, I had the immense pleasure of welcoming the new spring season with a podcast conversation with Jennifer Brodeur, a female entrepreneur I greatly admire. This wasn’t our first chat on the podcast, as Jennifer was a previous guest but I noticed a few changes with her holistic beauty business and was eager to find out more.

JB Skin Sävvi

Jennifer is the woman behind JB Skin Sävvi, a line of organic and holistic beauty products. The company was formerly known as JB Skin Guru, a name change prompted by the fact that Jennifer no longer wished to be seen as a “guru,” but rather as a skin strategist empowering women to become savvy about their own skin. She also launched a face mask, Le Masque, that improves redness, uneven texture, and is meant to restore brightness and boost hydration. It’s made with a blend of plant oils (such as coconut and sunflower seed) and vitamin E, it deeply nourishes and refreshes skin. Oh, and of course, it’s good for the environment. Le Masque is totally biodegradable and comes in a 100% recyclable pouch.

JB Skin Sävvi is built upon four main principles: the sustainable consumption of beauty products, a holistic, healthy way of living, a celebratory approach to aging and an uncompromising commitment to quality ingredients.

Jennifer, the teacher

Jennifer loves to teach and share. She is more than the creator of a line of beauty products, she’s also a passionate conservationist and defender of the environment.

We believe in ongoing education, for ourselves and for our consumers, on how to implement methods and procedures that benefit both the skin and the planet.

In addition to providing holistic beauty products and services to women all over the world, she loves to helping and supporting entrepreneurs launch businesses, big and small. She teaches a class about entrepreneurship nad always has some class our course on the go.

Last year, Jennifer published a book in French, La Peau et Ses Secrets which became a best seller here in Quebec. I think one of the reasons it did so well as that Jennifer provides down-to-earth advice and suggestions including that we buy less rather than more…

In an era where we feel bombarded by offers trying sell us more stuff, this is truly refreshing. She also shares holistic nutritional advice to help make your skin glow and she shares her beauty tips for anyone going through a period of great stress. The advice might be much simpler and less costly than you think….

The Environment

The boxes that our products are packaged in are carbon neutral and FSC Certified. Our cream bottles are recyclable, and because we are committed to working with companies that share our passion for sustainability, our serum droppers are manufactured by a company which works with 100% renewable energy.

Jennifer Brodeur

What I love most about Jennifer is that despite her busy schedule, she loves to laugh and never takes herself too seriously which makes her all the more endearing.

In the past, I’ve tried her Peoni line of products and I’m a big fan of her serum, which feels like a drop of heaven on your skin. She’s a fan of peonies, her favourite flower, and uses peony seed oil ( in addition to other natural ingredients) to create her beautiful line of discretely scented products.

During our interview, Jennifer also shares her lockdown favourites, including the things that spark joy, a powerful beauty secret indeed.
